By creating a secure, encrypted database, victims can confidentially self-report their experiences. This ingenious approach addresses the issue at its core—breaking down the barriers that often keep victims silent and abusers unaccountable.
For many victims, the decision to report an assault is fraught with fears of stigma, retribution, and disbelief. Traditional systems can be intimidating and intrusive, dissuading those who have already endured so much from coming forward. We Together changes that dynamic, offering a safer, more empathetic avenue for victims to take that crucial first step. This shifts the balance of power, giving victims the agency and dignity they need to begin their healing journey.
The real game-changer, however, lies in the database’s ability to identify patterns and clusters of abuse. By connecting the dots between multiple victims who report the same perpetrator, the charity creates a compelling body of evidence that can be passed on to law enforcement agencies for further action.
